Krater
|
Friday
start: 7:30pm
Saturday start: 7pm/10:30pm
Sunday start: 8pm
(audience advised to arrive at least 30 mins before start
time)
Venue:
Komedia,
www.komedia.co.uk
The Krater Comedy club has been
described as "the best new comedy club in Brighton for years", and
that's no mean feat. It is now the most popular comedy club on the south
coast.
From humble beginnings, (called
the Krater - because when the club was being planned, it was just a crater in the ground),
now in its third season the club is going from strength to strength and regularly selling
out.
Tickets for this 250 capacity venue can be ordered via
credit card or in person from the Komedia 2 Box office. All details can be found at the Komedia web site.
Please note that shows start *sharp* at 7:00 pm and 10:30pm
on Saturdays, and 8:00 pm on Sundays, and that late arrivals may be held back when the
acts are on stage.
This is a fantastic club - with great value for money,
absolutely top acts and a cracking atmosphere that has everyone going home with a smile on
their face.
Please note: The bills shown are subject to last minute
change - we do our best to make sure they are 100% correct but please check with the venue
for last minute details. We endeavour to do our best to make sure the bills stay exactly
as is but cannot be held responsible for any last minute variations. |

Come to
Brighton via the M23/A23 or A27. Once in Brighton, follow the A23 London Road
(which goes due South) to the seafront. Just before you reach the seafront, there is a
huge building on your right called the Royal Pavillion. Turn right so that the building
passes on your left hand side. Gardener St is your second right, but because of
Brightons one way system, you need to take your third right, then your next right,
and then next right again to park outside the venue. |
Trains
run regularly from London Bridge and Victoria direct to Brighton (check
trains 0345 484950 for details). Get the train to Brighton station, and then walk in a straight line from
the Station down Queens Road to the seafront (as if the train had kept going). Take your
second left down North Road. This will take you down a hill, and Gardener St is your 6th
on the right. Last return train times vary so please check. |

When travelling by car please note traffic in Brighton is as bad as London
as is
parking. After 6pm is a lot easier. Be warned that if arriving before 6pm your best bet
will be the NCP near the Komedia but this is closed and LOCKED at midnight.Timings
FRIDAY show. Please arrive by 6:30pm, show starts
7:30, ends
10:00.
SATURDAY EARLY show. Please arrive by 6:30pm, show starts 7:00, ends
9:30.
SATURDAY LATE show. Please arrive by 10pm, show starts 10:30, ends
12:30.
SUNDAY show. Please arrive by 7:30pm, show starts 8:00, ends 10:30pm.
If you are going to be late
you must let us know ASAP - ring the venue to let them know. We reserve the
right to replace you in this instance. Why not leave loads of time? Come down early
do some shopping, sit on the beach
prolong the life of the booker
Payment
Payment is made in cash at the end of the last show of the weekend. If you need to submit
a VAT invoice, please let us know in advance as we cant pay the VAT on the night
otherwise. It is the venue, not the booker, who pays you.
Technical
A CD player, technician and DI box is provided, but any acts with technical queries
should contact the Komedia at the numbers above. Dont worry, its not a radio
mike.
Press
The Komedia does a full colour program at least two months in advance so a
biography and 3*photos are essential ASAP. Scans of photos should be sent to JGdesign@dircon.co.uk and me@stephengrant.com.
Complimentary tickets
The venue is very safety conscious and is regularly at capacity, so if sold out nobody
other than the acts can get in. Acts doing full sets are allowed two comps to each show
but we MUST know four days beforehand, because if not their tickets will be sold. If the
venue exceeds the fire capacity it will be shut down, so this is strictly enforced!
Accommodation
Simple accommodation is available gratis to acts playing the Saturday late show in a house
owned by one of the venue staff. They will be given a front door key and a key to their
room. If this is required we need one weeks notice - call Agnes on <number withheld>.
This is a very friendly family environment so if the intention is to go and get trollied
Saturday night consider a B&B instead! |
